SilverKris Lounge Adelaide International Airport

An Adequate, Comfortable Lounge for Short Stay

This lounge is airside of passport control/emigration and is adjacent to Gate 16 about 50 metres from Gate 18, the usual departure point for Singapore Airlines flights. It’s located below the Departures concourse (Transit area) and is accessible by an escalator.

The lounge opens in the mornings about 90 minutes before departure of flight SQ278. It is also open in the late afternoon for SQ276 when this flight is part of the schedule. Entry is allowed for Singapore Airlines Business Class, PPS, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold status holders flying Singapore Airlines. A guest on the same flight is also welcome.

The lounge is windowless and is on the small side, but big enough for the one flight. The seating, armchairs in wood and cloth, are comfortable. For entertainment there are two flat screen TVs on opposite corners of the room and newspapers and magazines stacked on shelves.

The food on offer is very good considering most will be having breakfast and not lunch or dinner. There are sandwiches, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, pastries, cereals, chewy bars, biscuits, cheese, noodles, soup, etc. Hot drinks: coffee and tea; cold drinks: mineral water, spring water, mixers, soft drinks, wine and beer in a large fridge. Where you also find more sandwiches. There’s a small amount of liqueurs and spirits. Rather good selection.

There are three toilets all with amenities, one is unisex and has a shower. Surprising for such a small lounge. Useful should a Star Alliance carrier be transiting Adelaide, but I can’t be sure if the lounge would be open at those other hours at short notice.

Before entering the lounge, near reception, there is a small business area. Free WiFi too. The staff are welcoming and polite. The service efficient. All round a good lounge to spend an hour away from the crowd waiting at the gate.

Note: From 2021 this lounge will no longer exist as remodelling and an extension to Terminal 1 will change the configuration of this location. There will be a new common-user lounge close by for International travellers with status flying with Singapore Airlines and with several other airlines.
