KrisFlyer Gold Lounge Terminal 3, Changi Airport

Acceptable But Needs Refurbishment

Singapore Airline’s lounge for KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members.

The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in Terminal 3 is located on Level 3 above the shopping concourse between Emigration/Passport Control and Gates A1-A8.

It is a very popular lounge and can get crowded at times. My suggestion? Be aware of the departures schedule and plan ahead, especially when there are several flights into Asia on A380s.

The service is OK. The food is acceptable, but can become boring if you use this lounge regularly. Also considering the amount of people you’ll have to be lucky to time new servings of hot food. There are sandwiches, small cakes and nibbles as well. Coffee and tea and plenty of soft drinks, juices and water in the fridge. Not always cold mind you because of the turnover. Wine and spirits/liqueurs are available as well as Tiger Beer on tap. Probably the highlight of the lounge (for many).

The chairs and furniture have seen plenty of use. Comfort is not any better than what you may get in the transit area of the airport. The air conditioning seems non existent at times or it is set too low. Power points to recharge smartphones and tablets are plentiful. WiFi is OK but there have been moments when it does struggle. Again thanks to the sheer volume of users.

The lounge lacks internal toilets. Which in itself is not a major issue, they can be found close by in the hallway, just around the corner on your way to the Silver Kris Lounge. As this lounge is not targeted to First and Business Class passengers (SilverKris Lounge) there are no showers. Would be great to see a refresh and a little more space. A suggestion Singapore Airlines should take on board if it wants to keep its status as a world leading airline (and that goes for Star Alliance as well).

Update: Since August 2019, the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge is a worksite for the temporary extension of the SilverKris Lounge (First and Business Class). At the time of writing this update the KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members use the new Marhaba Lounge located between Louis Vuitton and the Singapore Foodstreet on Level 3.

With the opening of the SilverKris Lounge (Business Class) in late November 2021, KrisFlyer Elite Gold, Star Alliance Gold and Virgin Australia Velocity Gold and Platinum members flying Premium Economy or Economy on Singapore Airlines or a Star Alliance airline have access to this lounge. In February 2022 when the new KrisFlyer Gold lounge opens the SilverKris Lounge will revert back to Business Class and First Class.

For more information on the revamped lounge visit the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge page on the Singapore Airlines website.
